Music I Love: 1986

Higher Love– Steve Winwood
This is a cool song with a great soulful sound.

The Way It Is– Bruce Hornsby
Bruce Hornsby also played piano on Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me

This one is a catchy song and easy to sing along with.

Keep Your Hands to Yourself– The Georgia Satellites
This is a rollicking blues story song about a young gentleman who wants to make out with his girl, and is turned away at every encounter with insistences that he commit first before she gives him anything. It contains the hilarious lines:

“Then she told me some story about free milk and a cow,
And said no huggy, no kissy until I get a wedding vow”

Take a listen and if you like the blues… and humor, you’ll like this one.

No One Is To Blame– Howard Jones
I LOVE this song. If I had to single out 5 favorites from the entire decade, this would have to the list.
“And you want her, and she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her and she wants you
No one, no one, no one ever is to blame”
