Don’t Stop Believing– Journey
Yes, yes, it was overplayed, but it was one of the two best songs on the Escape album and in my opinion, has to be included on the list.
Who’s Crying Now– Journey
This was one of the songs I used to play on the piano we had at home… before I moved out. But I still love the haunting opening chords and Neil Schoen’s guitar solo. Great harmonies too.
867-5309/Jenny– Tommy Tutone
I know how to play this one on the guitar. It has a really memorable opening lick.
Burnin’ For You– Blue Oyster Cult
Blue Oyster Cult had a few songs make the list. I like this one and that’s all I need to say.
In The Air Tonight– Phil Collins
Starts off really slow, with cryptic lyrics that make you wonder what he is talking about. His own explanation is the definition of a ‘let down’. But then the drums kick in midway through the song, and yee-haw… we’re off and running.
Down Under– Men at Work
Super fun song that taught us all some Aussie slang. I mean, who knew what the hell “Vegemite” was?
