Math for Artists

It’s the dumbest thing, but I need to find an example of a long algorithm. I’m making a video for work that mentions a “sophisticated algorithm”, and in my mind, I envisioned a long bit of computer code, or maybe even mathematical equations, when I thought of what an algorithm looked like. But when I tried googling algorithms, I couldn’t find anything like what I was looking for. So I asked my son, who is a computer programmer, if he could point me in the right direction. I finally did find what I was looking for, but it reminds me of a half joke I used to tell: that for the math class requirement for an art degree, they should offer something like- Math for Artists: How to Draw Realistic Looking Equations. Now THAT would be a useful math class for artists.

Not that the equations would have to actually work or anything, but every once in a while, a job will require us to produce something that looks like a complicated equation, and it’s always tough to find examples.
