Music I Love: 1971

Continuing the Music I Love: the 70’s series, here are some songs from 1971.

Baba O’Riley– The Who  (1971)
If you listened to the song, you’d swear the title of the song had to be Teenage Wasteland, but you’d be wrong. This song is the Who at its rockin’ best though. And it has the classic 70’s experimental feel where the song changes gears several times.

Ain’t No Sunshine–  Bill Withers  (1971)
I mean… who doesn’t love this song? When it comes on the radio, you want to sing along.

Stairway to Heaven– Led Zeppelin  (1971)
Yeah, it got badmouthed in every guitar center with a cliché: No Stairway! Because every kid learning the guitar would come in and play it. But it’s a GREAT song, and Jimmy Page’s solo is one of the greatest guitar solos of all time.

Your Song– Elton John
I can’t believe I had forgotten this one in the original post, but it had to be added as soon as I remembered it.
