I’ve recently come across something called Human Design. I’m reluctant to say too much about it, despite a sort of internal distrust, because I don’t know anything about it. 

I’m not sure if it’s a woo-woo, new-agey version of personality tests, in which a few titles have been changed, but it’s essentially a personality test; or if it’s woo-woo, new-agey, harness-your-energy-from-the-universe,-mannnnnnn type nonsense. 

Back in early 2019, I had done work on a book series my boss commissioned. I produced the first version and everyone seemed excited. I brought in a friend of mine and we worked on some direction, came up with more in-depth personality traits and some story arc outlines. Everyone was excited, but the project was derailed when his wife wanted to take it a different direction.  She didn’t like the comic book format I’d chosen and she wanted to write it herself. 

So that was that. I had asked about progress on the project for a bit, but it seemed like once the excitement was over, his wife lost interest in it herself. About 6 months ago, it resurfaced and my boss and his wife had apparently fleshed out more of the story arcs and were preparing to write the actual stories. I was asked to look over things and give some input, and one of the things that showed up immediately throughout the story arc was a focus on “Human Design”, which, even the script noted, was considered new age nonsense by one of the characters. 

My wife was immediately down on it. I’ve withheld judgement because I don’t really know anything, but my boss’s wife has asked me to do a chart for her and it brought it up again. 

The little bit I have found doesn’t inspire me with confidence, but again, I may be jumping to conclusions. I’ll have to look into it a little more.
