Traditional Christmas Stuff: No 2

I watched White Christmas last night on Netflix. So I’ve now taken another step to get my life right by being able to say I’ve seen this traditional Christmas movie.

Overall, I liked the movie. Lots of funny lines, engaging story, the song ‘White Christmas’ and…. Vera-Ellen’s legs. Could have done without the cross-dressing scene where the boys take the place of the girls so the girls could skip out and avoid arrest….and some of the dance numbers seemed a bit out of place, but oh well.

Then my buddy Greg, when I mentioned things I was crossing off my traditional-Christmas-stuff-I’ve-never-done list goes and mentions “snow”. While I’ve now watched the movie, I’ve never actually experienced a white Christmas with actual snow. (fun fact- when just now typing out ‘white’, I accidentally hit an s, rather than a w, which, at least in England, makes for a completely different message!)
Having lived my entire life in the LA area, where we don’t get snow (except up in the mountains), a ‘white Christmas’ just wasn’t part of the package. Traveling on the holidays is expensive, crowded, and with family, not really feasible. But our parents won’t be around forever, and maybe at some point, I’ll travel to a place where there is snow on Christmas.

But anyway, I can now cross seeing White Christmas off my list.
Next up is reading A Christmas Carol.
