Oct 8 Saturday- Philly, Washington’s Crossing, and Princeton NJ
The previous day had been hot… today was not. 45 or so in the morning, high in the low 60s.
We head out pre-dawn to go to the Museum of Art, where Rocky Balboa famously ran up the steps.

We wanted to see the sunrise, and it was supposed to be clear, but unfortunately, there was a huge cloud bank over the east, and we missed the sunrise.

But we walked around and got some good pics of the skyline

and the Schuykill (pronounced skookel) river.

Then headed to Gran Caffè L’Aquila for breakfast.

After that we went to the Franklin Institute, a science and technology museum.

Around mid-day, we headed out of Philly to visit Washington’s crossing. We stopped at Charcoal on the Pennsylvania side for lunch,

then headed across the Delaware to the New Jersey side to see the river crossing spot.

Then we decided to drive into Princeton, New Jersey.

There are signs that say it was settled in 1683……1683!

Headed back to Philly

…where we rested, then, on a recommendation from a friend, went to Fette Sau (German for Fat Sow) in the Fishtown neighborhood for BBQ.

The neighborhood was another kind of hipster place, with TONS of people trawling the sidewalks.
