2024 New England: Saturday Oct 12

First thing in the morning we went back to the Providence river to see the sunrise and get pictures.

Then we headed over to Dave’s Coffee for the coffee milk.

I was a bit surprised that it was cold, but I had asked for the most traditional version, so that’s what I got. I ended up ordering a latte after that, just for a bit of warmth. Then we headed back into Massachusetts….

to Plymouth Rock where the Pilgrims first landed in America.

Drove back to Rhode Island to eat at Dune Brothers shack for the traditional clam cakes with clam chowder.

Then we continued on the Providence Freedom Trail, a series of historically significant sites from the colonial days.

We also saw the state capitol building.

Being exhausted from all the walking around Providence,

we decided to drive down to Narragansett,

then across the inlet to Newport.

But Newport was so packed with people we couldn’t even find a parking place, so we drove through and returned.

That evening we ate at Circe.
